Top Five 2020 Destination Wedding Trends

Here are some insider tips on what to expect from 2020 weddings, our amazing team of suppliers and French wedding venues are able to offer these, and many more.

  1. Fairy lights

Twinkly lights are always popular, but we are seeing more and more venues incorporating them into the standard decor they offer couples. They are a great way to add a little sparkle to your dining or party space. We also work with an amazing company who provides temporary outdoor festoon lighting to make your reception or dance floor look gorgeous right into the early hours of the morning.

  2. Bedouin tents

A far cry from a traditional marquee wedding, the Bedouin tents in France that we offer are a stylish option for weddings from spring through to early autumn. Even if you’re planning on an outside ceremony and reception it’s great to have a shaded area for your guests to relax in. And although we always hope for sunny weather and clear blue skies, the weather can be unpredictable and having a covered area is always sensible.

  3. Light and dreamy photography

Picking your wedding photographer is one of the most important choices you will make for your day. We are seeing clients move away from bright and vibrant styles towards fine art soft colours. We have some amazing wedding photographers in France and also work with international destination wedding photographers who have mastered the style and have been featured in bridal magazines worldwide.

  4. Wrist corsages

Bridesmaids have traditionally had a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet, but we’re noticing couples choose a corsage for their bridesmaids instead. We’ve often found that bridesmaids end up putting their bouquet down straight after the ceremony and photos, and the flowers go unseen for the rest of the day. But when bridesmaids have a wrist corsage they usually keep on until they start partying the night away!

  5. Weekend-long celebrations

Three day destination weddings are becoming super popular. Couples are now often deciding to find a wedding venue in France with accommodation onsite, so they can spend a long weekend with their friends and loved ones all in one place. We organise activities for the day before, everything from golf to drinks at a local cocktail bar, and an event for the day after (pool parties are particularly popular)!

Our ethos is to create truly unique events for couples who choose to get married in France, whether you want to follow these trends or do something completely different, we will work with you and support you to make your wedding day the ‘Best. Day. Ever.’
